convention-center-3908239_1280Planning an event (and doing it well!) takes a lot more work than most people realise. It’s easy to become overwhelmed by an ever-growing list of preparation tasks. And, even when that endless list is complete, it’s difficult to know which to tackle first.

Don’t worry, because we’re here to help. Not only do we offer a full event-planning service, from audience research and generating a buzz, to measuring its success and following up on any new leads too.

We are going to share the absolute essentials below. So, even if you decide to go-it alone, we want to help take some of the stress out of that initial planning process.

Let us know if you need any assistance along the way, we’ll be happy to help!

The three most important steps in making the most of your event:

1. Do your research – Find out what your audience wants

This is the most essential step of them all – the first step! You can go to all the effort in the world, make the absolute best of your budget and tick every box on this list, but if it’s not what your audience actually wants, then it’s a huge missed opportunity. Conduct audience surveys, do your research and make sure you are as much use to your audience as you can be.

2. Plan your appearance – Stand out and be different

This is something that gets increasingly difficult with each event that passes. More and more competitors will try new things, investing in new technologies and finding new ways to stand out. It’s important to make sure your branding is noticed. Signage and printed communication is one of the most effective ways to do this. Make sure everyone knows who you are, what your key message is and that everything is consistent and high quality. Remember – we offer a full print and design service for items such as banners, business cards, leaflets and flyers to help your visitors remember you! 3. Promote, promote, promote – Before, during and after

Build as big an audience as you possibly can, and start early. Share lots of images and teasers on social media, contact local press to raise local awareness of the event, tell people exactly where to find your stand, and you could even contact influencers to help get their followers excited too. Make a list of anything promotion worthy, such as whether or not you’re using recycled materials, share reviews, promote other companies who are attending and become a benefit-hunter. Document and share as much as possible, before, during and after the event too. It’s important to complete every task with promotion opportunities in mind.
