Whether you love it or loathe it, social media is one of the most effective marketing tools we have today. It not only strengthens customer relationships and loyalty, but helps to validate your brand, keeping you at the forefront of your customers’ minds.
Weirdly, many of the trends for 2019 seem to be current trends (sometimes on other platforms) that have suddenly started to gain traction towards the end of 2018. One thing’s for sure, we will continue to see a lot more of the following trends incorporated into social media platforms this year:
Chatbots have been around for a few years now, but they are starting to integrate with social media, communicating directly with customers. You can tailor bots to respond a certain way and set a timescale, meaning you’re always there for your customers night or day.
Streaming live videos has become a huge trend throughout 2018. Customers favour watching something live rather than reading information. Live video is a great way to increase engagement, as well as show your audience the confidence you have in your services.
More and more brands are starting to post videos to Instagram TV. With the potential to post longer, more in-depth videos, it’s an ideal platform for companies who have a longer message to promote.
This includes ‘filters’. Snapchat, Instagram and even Facebook now offer filters with their digital cameras, allowing users to personalise their interactions. We all appreciate the ability to personalise our experiences and that’s exactly what augmented reality allows us to do.
This is a trend that certainly isn’t going away any time soon. Brands and companies will continue to target influencers with large numbers of loyal followers. Audiences value and trust individuals much more than they trust companies, so influencer marketing is a very valuable and effective source of marketing.
