When it comes to social media, LinkedIn is at the top for visitor-lead conversion. While Facebook and Twitter are probably the first social media platforms you think of when writing your marketing plan, you could be missing out on some potentially profitable customers if you forget about LinkedIn.

If you have a LinkedIn company page, but you’re not using it effectively, here are 5 tips to increase your online presence:

  1. Update your company page

It is surprising how many company pages I come across that don’t have a profile picture or any information about their company. Make sure you add a company description with industry related keywords, along with high quality images that are consistent with your branding. And don’t forget your contact details.

  1. Share useful content

The content that you share with your followers needs to be helpful and interesting. It needs to get noticed so that YOU get noticed. It is also important to make sure the content is relevant to your target market and offers useful advice.

  1. Post regularly

It doesn’t look very professional if you post 5 updates in one day and then don’t post anything for another 3 weeks. The more you post on your LinkedIn page, the most likely people will find and read your content. Combined with a content marketing strategy, LinkedIn can help improve your SEO and increase traffic to your website.

  1. Like and share your company posts

To begin with, your personal profile is likely to have more connections than your company page has followers. By liking and sharing posts, your connections are more likely to see your posts and in turn, start following your company page.

  1. Include your company page on your website

You have your Facebook and Twitter button on your website…where is the LinkedIn one? If a website visitor has taken the time to view your website, they have likely shown an interest in your products/services. By clicking through to your LinkedIn page, they will see that you are a company that shares a lot of useful content – this demonstrates your expertise and that you’re a business that people should work with.
