Only 1 day to go until 2016. Where has this year gone?
Talking to the team in the office, it is crazy to think how much Fill the Gap Marketing has changed in the space of 12 months. 2015 saw our marketing agency turn 5 years old, our team growing in size (5 new employees joined us) and our client base expanding across the UK and even overseas.
Our days can get so busy that you sometimes forget to think about your triumphs over the year – be that big or small. Here are some of our successes of 2015:
Early in the year, Hollie Crampton joined the team as our Financial Services Marketing Specialist. As well as being a super mum to her children, Hollie has been busy connecting financial product providers and Fund Managers with regional IFAs and Wealth Managers, both locally and in London.
In March, Yazmin McGill joined Fill the Gap as our Admin Apprentice and has quickly fallen in love with the world of marketing, becoming a great addition to the team. She is constantly growing her expertise in administration and has passed all modules with flying colours.
Over the summer, Fill the Gap grew even further with Caroline Cleary and Tracy Millar joining us as Senior Marketing Consultants, working with businesses such as Bishop Grosseteste University and the Lincoln Science and Innovation Park. We also welcomed back our Copywriter, Sarah Whittaker, who has not only provided us with amazing copy for our clients, but has even published her own book, raising money for Sarcoma, the bone & soft tissue cancer charity.
As well as ‘running’ a growing business, our Managing Director Jo Wilson, was able to raise over £3,000 for the British Heart Foundation this summer by running the London Marathon in 4 hours and 47 minutes. She has also spoken at a number of events across the East Midlands, sharing her marketing expertise with SMEs.
After finishing his 2nd year at University this year, our Marketing Assistant Tom Jacobs seems to never stop expanding his knowledge. As well as supporting our team with his marketing expertise, Tom spent a week with a top London Advertising Agency this summer and even set up his own clothing brand, Grr. Clothing.
Coming to the end of the year, I was lucky enough to not only be nominated, but awarded ‘Young Business Person of the Year’ at the 2015 Lincolnshire Media Business Awards. I know I wouldn’t have even been nominated if it wasn’t for the support I receive everyday from the Fill the Gap team and their dedication to our clients.
Looking back at 2015, it is hard to think how we managed to fit everything into only a year, but we did it! I’m proud to be part of such a hardworking team and to be working with so many great businesses, supporting them with their marketing.
If 2016 is only as half as great as 2015, it will certainly be another amazing year. Here’s to 2016!
